Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell remains hospitalized for evaluation after sustaining a neck injury during Sunday’s 19-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings, the team confirmed Monday.
Campbell was immobilized on a backboard and transported by cart early in the fourth quarter after tackling Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson. He lay motionless and face down on the field before on-site medical personnel evaluated him. He was alert and breathing during transport to a local hospital.

The Lions said in a Monday statement that Campbell is resting and recovering at a local hospital and that preliminary assessments are encouraging. The team added it would not release further information out of respect for Campbell and his family.
Coach Dan Campbell said after Sunday’s game, “We’re thinking about him.”
Campbell, 26, plays linebacker for the Lions and is in his fourth NFL season. Detroit selected him with the 18th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Lions signed him to a four-year contract extension in May.
