The Arizona Cardinals named Gardner Minshew II starting quarterback for Sunday’s road game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Minshew will start ahead of Jacoby Brissett. The move follows Minshew’s relief appearance in last week’s 33-30 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Arizona trailed 17-3 when Minshew entered late in the third quarter. He threw three touchdown passes and finished with 188 yards passing. The Cardinals scored three times inside the 20-yard line with Minshew at quarterback.

Minshew, 30, is in his eighth NFL season. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round (No. 178 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Verified data confirms his current role as Cardinals quarterback but does not specify how or when he joined the team.
