Indiana advances to its first ever CFP championship following its thrashing 56-22 win over Oregon. It’s the second time this season that Indiana has beaten Oregon.
Indiana showed no signs of struggles throughout the game. On the first offensive play of the game D’Angelo Ponds got a pick-six to give Indiana a 7-0 lead and the team never looked back. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza would finish with more passing touchdowns than incompletions for the second game in the row.
It was a day to forget to Dante Moore. Despite the 285 passing yards and two touchdowns, Moore had three turnovers (one interception and two fumbles lost). The Oregon defense had no answer to slowing down the Indiana offense, as it was the most amount of points the Ducks have allowed all-season long.
Indiana will now get ready to face-off against the Miami Hurricanes in the national championship. The Hurricanes are coming off of a dramatic 31-27 win in the Fiesta Bowl over Ole Miss and are looking to for its first championship since the 2001 season.
