Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer has agreed to a new seven-year contract extension that raises his annual salary to $12.5 million. His buyout is now $10 million in January 2027, $8 million through January 2028, and $6 million in January 2029.

Alabama hired DeBoer on January 12, 2024, following the sudden retirement of Nick Saban. DeBoer was hired from Washington following the Huskies National Championship defeat. He has a career record of 57-17 as a head coach.
In two seasons with the Crimson Tide, DeBoer has gone 20-8. He led the Crimson Tide to an SEC Championship appearance this past season and to the No. 9 overall seed in the College Football Playoff. He is also 3-1 against ranked opponents.
Alabama opens its 2026 season on Sept. 5 at home against East Carolina.
