Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has just won the Slovenian Sports Personality of the Year award for the sixth consecutive time. He is coming off of a tremendous postseason and many are predicting Doncic to win the MVP award this season. Gilbert Arenas is arguably setting the bar higher than anyone.
“I would be surprised if he doesn’t average a triple-double. If you were averaging so many assists with what you had, and now you have a guy who is a specialist in long-range shooting. Some of your assists will come effortlessly this time,” Arenas said on a recent episode of Gil’s Arena.

Not only does he believe that Doncic will average a triple-double this season, Arenas believes this will help him win the MVP trophy.
“He will probably be the number one MVP candidate. He’s going to do something that hasn’t been done in a few years, and that is to average a triple-double,” Arenas said.
With the Mavericks adding Klay Thompson to the roster this summer, they are primed to make another deep postseason run and Doncic will undoubtedly be a part of the MVP race.
