It’s been over two months since Luka Doncic went down with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, but the Los Angeles Lakers just got their best update on him yet.
According to a recent report by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Doncic will spend the summer overseas to spend time with his daughters, but he’s also fully healthy and ready to begin offseason workouts.

Sources told McMenamin that Doncic was fully cleared for basketball activities on May 28.
“He’s in full go mode,” one source told him.
Sources also told ESPN that Doncic’s desire for the Lakers to bring in an “A-list” center still remains, voicing that desire to Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and head coach JJ Redick.
A two-way athletic center would be an ideal pick-and-roll partner for Doncic, who’s arguably the best playmaker in basketball. Unfortunately, for L.A. the free agent market for bigs is very slim.
In his exit interview following the Lakers’ second-round loss to the OKC Thunder, he said he enjoys playing alongside LeBron James and Austin Reaves.
“We had a great team, we had great chemistry, and obviously playing with AR and Bron, it’s an unbelievable experience,” he said. “They are two great players, and it was really fun to share the court with them.”
Regardless of what the roster looks like moving forward, Doncic is now healthy and beginning his offseason training regimen.
