San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has as much potential as any player we have ever seen. Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley seems to agree. The 12-year veteran commented on Wembanyama in a recent episode of the “Pat Bev Pod“.
“[Victor Wembanyama] is not a five,” Beverley said. “He’s everything. Like you can’t even put him in comparison to other people. He’s the best player in the NBA next year.”

“Just because you’re 7’4″ don’t make you a center. … It’s not a position for him. He’s positionless.”
The term “positionless basketball” has been a very popular term over the last few years, but Wembanyama’s game truly is positionless. On one hand, his stature makes him a major threat in the frontcourt, but his guard-like skills and movement allow him to have nearly perfect positional versatility.
While he may not be ready to be the primary playmaker on a contending team, it’s safe to say we’ve never seen a player quite like Wembanyama.
