The market for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been opening up this offseason, but one franchise appears to be leading the pack.

Despite the Miami Heat being the suitor that has engaged for the longest period of time, ESPN reporter Vince Goodwill shared on Get Up that the franchise believes that the Boston Celtics are in the lead to acquire Antetokounmpo.

“What I’ve heard from people depending on who you talk too, Boston or Miami is in the driver seat of this conversation, Vince Goodwill said. “A couple executives I talked to yesterday said they think that Miami thinks Boston is in the lead.”

Previous reports have stated that Antetokounmpo is drawn to the idea of playing for the Celtics and may be willing to sign his four-year $275 million max extension with the franchise.

To this point there has been no indication from the Celtics front office that it is targeting the 10 time all-star, but the team’s President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens has been adamant that the roster must improve this offseason.
