Miami Dolphins sign RB De’Von Achane to four-year, $68 million extension

The Miami Dolphins have signed Pro Bowl runningback De’Von Achane to a four-year, $68 million contract extension, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

The 24-year-old will reportedly get $32 million in guarantees as part of the deal. At $17 million per year, the extension now makes Achane the third-highest paid RB in the NFL.

He now only trails Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley and San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey.

Achane was selected by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft and has only improved since his rookie season. In 2025, he earned his first Pro Bowl selection after a breakout campaign.

He ended the year with 1,350 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns to go along with 67 receptions for 488 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.

Wednesday’s move should come as no surprise, as Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan told ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques back in March that signing Achane to an extension was a priority.

“Achane is a very, very, very important piece of what we’re going to do moving forward,” Sullivan said. “He’s a building block for us. It is a priority for us to get a deal done with him in the coming weeks, months.”

That goal was met this week as the Dolphins locked in Achane through the 2030 season.
