In a thrilling overtime battle at Delta Center, the Utah Jazz defeated the Dallas Mavericks 140-133, spoiling a historic performance from rookie sensation Cooper Flagg.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, erupted for a career-high 42 points, along with seven rebounds and six assists. He shot 13-27 from the field and 15-20 from the free-throw line.

Flagg broke LeBron James’ decades-old record for the most points scored by an 18-year-old in NBA history (surpassing LeBron’s 37).

Unfortunately for Flagg and the Mavericks, the Jazz’s balanced attack proved decisive. The Jazz saw Keyonte George go off for 37 points, while Lauri Markkanen chipped in 33 points and 16 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Flagg’s explosive outing reinforces his status as a generational talent and frontrunner for Rookie of the Year.
