The Boston Celtics signed center Neemias Queta to an extension on Friday according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Queta, who was entering the final year of his deal, signed a four-year contract worth $56 million after a career best season averaging 10.2 points and 8.4 rebounds.

After originally entering the NBA with the Sacramento Kings, Queta mainly saw two-way contracts and spent time developing in the G-League until landing in Boston.
When the Celtics saw Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis depart, Queta stepped up into the starting role and took full advantage of the opportunity.
He will now be manning the front court with free agent signee Mitchell Robinson who came over from the New York Knicks as well.
President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens said at the beginning of the offseason that Boston needed to “get more dunks” and thats exactly what it’ll be hoping for from the seven footer.
