The Milwaukee Bucks are looking to shake up their roster after their disappointing end of the 2024-25 NBA season. Milwaukee is signing Myles Turner from the Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers while waiving nine-time All-Star, Damian Lillard.

This move may come as a shock to some, but it makes sense for the Bucks. They stretch Lillard’s remaining $113 million on his contract over the next five years, paying him, yet being able to use cap space to sign new talent.

Turner is the first of that new talent as he is signing a four-year, $107 million deal, which includes a player option in his fourth year, and a full 15% trade kicker.
Turner can help Giannis Antetokounmpo on the boards, as he brings energy every single game. As for Lillard, he’ll likely miss all next season due to a torn left Achilles tendon.
Lillard’s time in Milwaukee hasn’t gone as planned. He appeared to have a tough time fitting in alongside Antetokounmpo on the Bucks’ offense, as he clearly wasn’t the same player as he was in Portland.
Despite this, reports are out that Antetokounmpo is “not pleased” with the Bucks’ decision to waive Lillard.
