After a years-long saga of rumors, confusion and contradictions, the Milwaukee Bucks have finally done it.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, they are trading superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat in exchange for for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, 3 first-round picks (including No. 13), 1 pick swap and 1 second-rounder.

Monday’s blockbuster move marks the end of a long period of trade rumors that laster several seasons.
As the buzz reached an all-time high Monday evening, Antetokounmpo posted a vague message to social media.
He came into the league in 2013 as a raw prospect that averaged 6.8 points in his rookie year, but only needed a few years to become one of the most dominant slashers the game has ever seen.
Antetokounmpo has spent all 13 seasons of his career in Milwaukee, evolving into a two-time league MVP while leading the Bucks to a title in 2021.
The 31-year-old is coming off of the most injury-riddled season of his career. He only appeared in 36 games, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game on 62.4% shooting.
Despite a down year in terms of both health and production, the – decided to pull off the deal and bring in the 10-time All-Star.
His time in Milwaukee ended with a bit of drama, outlined by a final season that saw the Bucks miss the playoffs with a 32-50 record.
While he publicly expressed a desire to stay in Milwaukee, reports emerged that he was pushing for a trade behind the scenes.
The media firestorm surrounding this saga momentarily became a dispute between the Bucks and Charania specifically, who was behind much of the reporting citing anonymous team sources.
Now, he’ll begin a new era in Miami with the same goal, an NBA championship.
It may have taken a while, but Monday was arguably the largest shift of the NBA landscape since the Dallas Mavericks sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
