Giannis Antetokounmpo trade buzz intensifies ahead of NBA draft

The 2026 NBA Draft is just a few days away and the overall trade market seems to be at a standstill, waiting for one of the most anticipates moves in league history.

Once again, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are at the center of intense trade rumors. This time, it’s starting to feel like a deal may actually be made.

According to multiple reports, the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics are the two teams far ahead of the other potential trade destinations.

Almost every NBA insider has pointed to those two squads as the 31-year-old’s next destination.

This doesn’t mean a surprise team can’t come in with a fantastic offer and snag Antetokounmpo, but Miami and Boston are the two teams that have reportedly been the most active in trade discussions, which have now reached an all-time high.

There are plenty of reasons for both teams to get a deal done, but it certainly won’t be easy. Without a major superstar, the Heat don’t have a ton of assets to send to Milwaukee, meaning the Bucks’ asking price for Antetokounmpo could prove to be too high.

The Celtics have a star-caliber player to offer in Jaylen Brown, but they may be hesitant to break up his partnership with Jayson Tatum, especially for a player that’s older than Brown.

From the outside looking in, it’s almost impossible to predict where Antetokounmpo will be playing next season. But now more than ever, the signs are pointing to a new destination for the 10-time All-Star.
