The Milwaukee Bucks are hiring former Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins to be the team’s next head coach, per NBA insider Shams Charania.
The Bucks and Doc Rivers parted way just hours after the regular season ended and the Bucks have been on the coaching search ever since. They finished with a 32-50 record on the season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2015-16.
According to Charania, Jenkins has been viewed as the NBA’s top available head coaching candidate. He actually spent time with the Bucks as an assistant coach during the 2018-19 season.
He went on to become the head coach of the Grizzlies from 2019-2025, where he finished with three playoff appearances and a 250-214 overall record.
The length and financial details of the deal have not yet been made public.
