When the Cleveland Browns dealt Myles Garrett last week, it signaled a new era of the franchise especially on the defensive side of the ball.

However, not all of the Browns stars are looking to jump ship after the loss of its centerpiece. Defensive back Denzel Ward made it clear that he does not want to leave Cleveland any time soon.

“I definitely still want to be here,” Ward said according to ESPN. “Myles is a good friend of mine, a great teammate, but things aren’t lost. It’s Ohio against the world. So people could doubt us, but we’re going out there still trying to play our best ball and bring wins to the city.”

Ward was selected No. 4 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft and has been amongst the top cornerbacks in the game since entering the league. Throughout his eight seasons in Cleveland, Ward has totaled 361 total tackles and 18 interceptions while also being named to five pro bowls.

He currently has two years remaining on his previous four-year $100 million contract extension.
