ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith is known for his antics and embellishment, but Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown took issue with Smith’s recent comments about the Celtics after blowing a 3-1 lead to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round.

Smith recently suggested that Brown leave the Celtics and in response, Brown went live on Twitch Sunday evening and didn’t hold back his thoughts.

“F*** Stephen A,” Brown said. “My offer still stands. You want me to be quiet and stop streaming. I want you to be quiet and get off these networks. You’re not using your platform to do real journalism. You’re using your platform to use clickbait.”

His newest comments come after the pair got into it on social media around the time Brown last went live on Twitch earlier this month.

This time around, it didn’t take long for Smith to give another response on ESPN’s First Take Monday morning.

“Jaylen Brown, be careful what you wish for. You really want me to start reporting on that level? You understand? Locker room, how the organization might think about you, how the city may feel about you, how Jayson Tatum may or may not feel about you… the list goes on and on. The season is over bro. You’re on Twitch trying to do what I do and talking about me needing to step away. It makes no sense.”

While this entire situation had seemed like a one-off encounter, it’s now shaping up to be a legitimate beef. Smith has already gone at it with Los Angeles Lakers star and NBA legend LeBron James, so it’s clear he isn’t afraid of the conflict.
