Mike Tomlin has informed the Pittsburgh Steelers that he is stepping down as head coach after 19 seasons, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.

The move comes after Monday night’s 30-6 Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans. Tomlin was the longest-tenured head coach in the league, winning one Super Bowl, two conference championships and seven division titles.
He never had a losing season with the Steelers, but they have now gone nine years since winning a single playoff game.
“When you don’t get it done, words are cheap,” Tomlin said when asked about his message to fans. “It’s about what you do or you don’t do. And so, I appreciate the question, but people talk too much in our business. You either do or you don’t.”
The Steelers are now the third team in the AFC North without a head coach, the Cincinnati Bengals are the lone team with a coach at the helm.
