Breaking: Haliburton reportedly suffers calf strain

Tyrese Haliburton struggled in Game 5, as he appeared to be limping. New reports have stated it’s believed Haliburton has suffered a calf strain in his right leg.

Haliburton will undergo an MRI to determine to severity of the injury. This is not good news for Pacers fans. If Haliburton can’t play in Game 6, Indiana’s chance to win shrinks.

Haliburton spoke about his injury and his decision to play after the Pacers’ Game 5 loss.

“It’s the Finals,” Haliburton said. “I’ve worked my whole life to be here and I want to be out there to compete, help my teammates any way I can. I was not great tonight by any means, but it’s not really a thought of mine to not play here. If I can walk, then I want to play.”

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle also spoke about Haliburton’s injury and how the team will handle it moving forward.

“[Haliburton’s] not a hundred percent,” Carlisle said. “There’s a lot of guys in the series that aren’t.

“This is a lifetime opportunity. Not many guys are going to sit, even if they are a little banged up. If you’re injured, that’s a different story. But we’ll evaluate everything with Tyrese and see how he wakes up tomorrow.”

Hopefully, Haliburton’s calf strain isn’t that serious, and he’ll be able to play in Game 6. If he’s out on the floor, expect the Pacers guard to give it everything he has to try and send this series to a seventh game.
