Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested in Arkansas on Wednesday, according to public records from the Cross County Sheriff’s Office.

Clarke was booked on charges of speeding, reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance. While he was booked around 1 p.m. EST on Wednesday, specific details of the arrest have not been released.

The 29-year-old was drafted by the Grizzlies in 2019, but he only appeared in two games this campaign before suffering a season-ending calf strain.

After a recent MRI revealed lingering damage in his leg, the Grizzlies announced last week that Clarke would miss the remainder of the season.

Ahead of Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks, Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo declined to comment on the situation.

“I’m aware of the report, but don’t have any comments,” Iisalo told reporters.

Clarke is currently being held on a “CID hold” while the charges are processed. It is currently unclear when he’ll be released.

James Parker contributed to this story.
