After just one day, 12-year MLB veteran utilityman Chris Taylor is reversing his decision and coming out of retirement, per MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger.

He initially announced his retirement on Friday, with fans and teams pouring in their tributes on social media. But he’s now opted to come back and be placed on the injured list with a fractured forearm.

Taylor appeared in 32 games this season for the Salt Lake Bees, the Los Angeles Angels’ Triple-A affiliate.

He was drafted be the Seattle Mariners in 2012, playing three seasons there before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016. His sting in Los Angeles lasted nearly a decade, including a career year in 2017.

That season, he hit .288/.354/.496 with 21 home runs, 34 doubles, 72 RBI and 17 stolen bases. He also went on to be named an All-Star in 2021 before his eventual release from the Dodgers early in the 2025 season.

Taylor would then sign with the Los Angeles Angels, but struggled at the plate before landing on their Triple-A team this season.

While he had initially decided to throw in the towel, Taylor clearly wants to get healthy and get back to being a productive player at the major league level.
