Giannis Antetokounmpo

Austin Rivers says Giannis Antetokounmpo might leave Milwaukee

Giannis Antetokounmpo has played for the Milwaukee Bucks for the duration of his NBA career, which started back in 2013. Since then, he’s become one of the best players in the league and one of the greatest Bucks players of all time. He led the franchise to the 2021 NBA title and helps them consistently finish near the top of the Eastern Conference. However, after yet another disappointing playoff run, rumors are swirling about Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee.

Austin Rivers, NBA veteran and son of Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, recently took to his podcast to warn of the Greek Freak’s potential departure.

“I hate saying that but if they aren’t able to have some real success, and I would define that as at least Conference Finals, then I don’t see him sticking around,” Rivers said.

With Rivers’ father at the helm of the organization, these comments seem well-informed and should be concerning for Bucks fans. It was recently reported that the Golden State Warriors are heavily monitoring Antetokounmpo’s status in their search for a new star to add alongside Stephen Curry.

With more pressure on them than ever, the Bucks will need to utilize the Dame-Giannis duo in the playoffs if they can remain relatively injury-free. Antetokounmpo’s future with the team may hang in the balance.
