Anonymous coach believes teams should be “terrified” of Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic is looking for redemption. He was traded from the team he loved, the Dallas Mavericks, without warning to the Los Angeles Lakers. Then, his season ended on a sour note as the Minnesota Timberwolves easily defeated the Lakers in the first round.

Doncic usually enters the new NBA season out of shape. This was a concern for the Mavericks and partly played into why they traded him. This year is different. Famously featured on the cover of Men’s Health magazine, Doncic looks to be in incredible shape.

This new-look, in shape, Luka Doncic, is why an anonymous NBA coach believes that teams should be terrified of him in the upcoming season.

“People should be very terrified,” the coach said in an interview with Heavy Sports. “He was putting up big numbers when he was a chunk. I don’t know if he’ll score more, but he’s got to be a better player when he’s in shape.

“If he was one of the best players in the league as a blob, you have to figure he’s going to be able to push it even more now.”

The Lakers could have a dominant season if Doncic can play at his normal MVP-level self. It took him some time to get used to playing alongside LeBron James last season, but that shouldn’t be an issue come this year.
