Japan would stroll past Tunisia, becoming the third team to be eliminated from the 2026 World Cup.

This match had history being made left, right and center.

Firstly, this matched marked the 1,000th match in World Cup history.

It was also the first time Japan or any Asian nation for that matter had ever scored four goals in a World Cup match.

Japan would look to get on the board early after it look them till the second half to find their first against the Netherlands on Saturday.

And get on the board early they would, drawing first blood in the fourth minute.

Keito Nakamura would cross an end line pass right into the center of the six-yard box where Daichi Kamada would tap it home.

Japan’s offense would continue to suffocate the Tunisian defense with a great scoring opportunity in the 10th minute.

A Japanese corner would force an incredible save from Tunisian goalkeeper Aymen Dahmen who would just keep the ball from crossing the line.

But Japan just would not quit, keeping their foot on the gas.

And their persistence would be rewarded in the 30th minute.

Kou Itakura would get the attack started, slotting a pass to Ayase Ueda who would drive to the top of the box and bury a rocket into net.

And the Japanese onslaught did not end there.

In the 69th minute, Ueda would thread a beautiful through ball to Junya Ito who would finish off the opportunity with a goal.

But Ueda, not content with just the one goal would look for another in the 83rd minute.

He would find a Kaishu Sano cross into the box, meeting it at the top and heading it past three Tunisian bodies in net.

The Japanese would take the match with a final score of 4-0 in dominate fashion.

Japan and Tunisia will both play their final group stage matches at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Tunisia, with their tournament over, can only play spoilers against the Netherlands and end their tournament on a positive note.

As for Japan, they will look for a win over Sweden to possibly top Group F.
