Russell Westbrook was once a top player in the NBA. He won an MVP award, multiple scoring and assists titles, and he’s the triple-double king.

Today, things have changed. Westbrook is currently not on an NBA roster and there doesn’t appear to be much interest in his services.

Teams from overseas, however, have much interest in Westbrook. Reportedly, the European club Hapoel Tel Aviv made Westbrook a massive $50 million per year offer.

This has since been disproven by Hapoel Tel Aviv themselves. Still, overseas is looking more like Westbrook’s best chance to play this season, but the 2017 MVP isn’t interested in playing overseas.

“There has been ‘zero discussion’ to date about him weighing interest to play abroad this season, league sources say,” NBA Insider Marc Stein reports.

“He’d naturally generate a slew of overseas offers if he were open to them. But I’m told that securing his next NBA opportunity has been the focus for Westbrook’s camp. Even if that means, as it increasingly appears, options fail to materialize until after the 2025-26 regular season starts on October 21.”

There have been some new reports that the Sacramento Kings are interested in Westbrook. Maybe we’ll see Mr. Triple Double on an NBA roster sooner than later.
