The Dallas Mavericks were looking to avenge their Christmas Day loss to the Golden State Warriors with a win against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. Unfortunately for Dallas, a former MVP would stand in their way.
Russell Westbrook is proving to be a great pickup for Sacramento, as he led the Kings with 21 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. He didn’t go alone, however. Keon Ellis also added 21 points and Maxime Raynaud contributed 19 points.

This proved good enough as it helped Sacramento hold off Cooper Flagg’s 23 points to win 113-107. The Kings have continued to deal with injuries all season long, but their heart resides in Westbrook, and he’ll never give up.
