Milwaukee is now potentially in rebuilding mode for years to come.
After getting bounced in the first round of the NBA playoffs for a third straight year, insiders within the league have seen two new teams emerge as potential trade spots for Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer.

Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo makes NBA history in Game 3 win over Pacers
The “Greek Freak” has meant everything to the Bucks’ organization since being drafted in 2013.
Antetokounmpo has been a nine-time All-Star, two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, an eight-time All-NBA Team selection, four-time All-NBA Defensive First-Team honoree, 2020 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, an NBA Champion in 2021, and an NBA Finals MVP. He is one of the biggest faces of the league, but the 30-year-old is hungry to win more.
Several oddsmakers have the Brooklyn Nets as the top landing spot for Antetokounmpo in a trade; however, the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs have jumped into the mix. Brian Windhorst, an NBA insider for ESPN, reported both as destinations — especially if one of the two jumps into the top-four of the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery. Houston has a talented, young team that has pushed Golden State in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. It defeated the Warriors, 115-107, on Friday night to force a Game 7. A victory for the Rockets would advance it to the second round to face the Minnesota T’Wolves.
The Rockets and Spurs are two teams to monitor for a potential pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer, per @WindhorstESPN.

San Antonio has a young international superstar in Victor Wembanyama.
Trading rumors see the possibility of Kevin Durant joining Wemby in San Antonio, but it would just as good if Antetokounmpo falls there. It will be interesting to see what happens, but the Rockets or Spurs could greatly benefit from Antetokounmpo.
