Dwight Howard had a great NBA career that has been overlooked by many fans today. Luckily for Howard, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has not overlooked him, as they have elected Howard to the 2025 Hall of Fame class.

Dwight Howard started his career with the Orlando Magic in 2004 when he skipped college to join the NBA. As the number one overall pick, a lot was riding on Howard’s shoulders and he did deliver.

Howard played eight years as a member of the Magic and won three straight Defensive Player of the Year awards. He also led the Magic to their second NBA Finals appearance, ultimately losing to Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers in 2009.
After leaving Orlando, Howard bounced around from team to team, including the Lakers, Houston Rockets, and the Atlanta Hawks. Eventually, Howard returned to LA to team up with LeBron James and helped the Lakers win the 2020 NBA championship, which was held in the famous Disney Bubble.
With career averages of 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game, to go along with five rebounding titles, it’s no wonder why Howard was elected to the 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class. It’s well deserved.
