Joel Embiid has just signed a three-year contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers worth $193 million, according to the team. Embiid also took to social media to announce that he’s sticking around.

“Philadelphia is home. I want to be here for the rest of my career,” Embiid wrote. “I love this community and everything you’ve given me and my family. There is a lot more work to do. You guys deserve a championship and I think we’re just getting started!”

The extension will run through the 2028-29 season, with a player option worth $69.1 million on the final year of the deal. ESPN’s
Bobby Marks noted that the deal will push Embiid’s career earning to more than $500 million, joining LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paul George and Stephen Curry as the only players to surpass that mark.

Embiid had a monster 2023-24 season, averaging 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals per game. Although their playoff run ended shorter than expected, the 76ers are looking better than ever after securing their trio of Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey to long-term deals.
