The Houston Texans and All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson have agreed to a three-year, $150 million contract extension, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
With a $50 million annual salary, the new deal makes Anderson the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
A no-trade clause is also part of the deal that includes $134 million in fully guaranteed money.
Anderson was drafted with the third overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and immediately made an impact on his way to the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
He set career highs across the board last season as he was named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year and earned First-Team All-Pro honors.
The rare no-trade clause indicates that both parties are fully bought in moving forward. Quarterback CJ Stroud is next up in line for a major extension with the Texans this year.
