What would Russell Westbrook to the Bulls mean for Lonzo Ball’s future?

The Chicago Bulls are falling apart in their 2022-23 NBA campaign. Last night, the team from the Windy City fell 112-100 to the Milwaukee Bucks, who played most of the game without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who left the game in the second quarter with a wrist injury.

One of the Bulls’ biggest problems this season has been their point guard play. Second-year man, Ayo Dosunmu, plays hard and has a bright future in front of him, but at this point, he’s not capable of running the offense effectively.

After the Los Angeles Lakers finally traded Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz, and with the Jazz looking to buy Westbrook out of his contract, the question has emerged for Bulls fans… Should Chicago sign Westbrook?

Another question has popped up, as well. If Westbrook signs with the Bulls, what does this mean for Lonzo Ball‘s future?

Lonzo Ball’s future is up in the air

Lonzo Ball continues to experience pain in his left knee, despite having a second surgery. Because of this and the Bulls’ obvious struggles, many fans and analysts have put out the call for Chicago to sign Russell Westbrook.

Now, Westbrook should be able to bring a spark the Bulls desperately need, but if the triple-double king does join the Bulls, where does that leave Lonzo? If Westbrook plays great as a member of the Bulls, does the team trade Lonzo away?

What does a squad with both Lonzo Ball and Russell Westbrook look like on its roster look like? It would appear on the outside that these two would “get into each other’s ways” on the court, and it doesn’t look wise to keep both on the roster.

So, who do the Bulls keep? A fiery Westbrook, who was the leading candidate for the Sixth Man of the Year Award while dealing with having all the blame put on him as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Or does Chicago keep Lonzo, a player plagued with the injury bug? These are questions not only Bulls fans need to ask but Chicago’s management, as well.

Only time will tell what the Chicago Bulls will do, but there’s one thing that is certain. The Bulls need to do something since the franchise is headed in the direction of one of the league’s worst teams, and Bulls fans deserve better.
