The Western Michigan Broncos capped off its historic season with a 41-6 victory over the Kennesaw State Owls in the Myrtle Beach Bowl, making it the team’s first bowl win since 2021.
The Broncos finish their season with a 10-4 record, just the second time in program history the team finishes with double-digit wins, with the team going 13-1 in 2016 and a 24-16 loss in the Cotton Bowl to the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Broncos came into the game with the No. 15 ranked defense in the nation, and they proved it. They held the Owls to six points, had five sacks, and forced four turnovers which included a 75-yard pick six to make it 41-0.
Despite the struggles the Owls went through in today’s game, it was a step in the right direction for the program. It’s the program’s second inaugural season in the FBS and they finish the season 10-4, a complete turnaround from last year’s 2-10 record.
