UConn star Sarah Strong has added yet another accolade to her trophy case for this season. She was named the AP women’s Player of the Year after leading an undefeated Huskies team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks.
As the Big East Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, Strong is averaging 18.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 1.6 blocks for UConn. Her elite play on both sides of the ball has helped the Huskies reach the Final Four with a 38-0 record.

Strong hasn’t been a top 10 scorer, but here incredible efficiency paired with limited minutes paints a bigger picture of her production. Her level of play has only improved so far in the NCAA Tournament, where she’s averaging 19.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.
The Huskies have completely dominated their competition this season, in part due to Strong’s spectacular season. They will now look to take down South Carolina in their Final Four matchup on Friday.
