Tyrese Maxey out multiple weeks with hamstring injury

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is currently ruled out with a hamstring injury and could miss several weeks of action, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Maxey sustained the injury during the Sixers’ 110-98 loss to the L.A. Clippers on Wednesday. Thursday afternoon, Charania appeared on ESPN’s First Take with details of the injury.

“I’m told that Tyrese Maxey will have a full evaluation later today but the sides are bracing for him to miss about a couple of weeks with this hamstring injury,” Charania said. “He will need to take his time, this is a soft tissue injury.”

Sixers head coach Nick Nurse spoke about Maxey’s injury after Wednesday night’s game.

“He just had some hamstring tightness,” Nurse said. “And they’ll check it out.”

The Sixers are now 1-6 on the season and dealing with an injury to their primary guard. With Joel Embiid still out until Tuesday at the earliest and Paul George just recently making his debut, it will take a while for the Sixers to play as a full, cohesive team.
