A tough blow has hit the Indiana Pacers shortly after a successful run to the NBA Finals.
Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers to the promised land last season, regardless of the team falling short to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Haliburton suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the series, causing the Pacers hopes for a Larry O’Brien Trophy to be shattered. He had a successful surgery; however, Indiana does not want to rush him back. According to Kevin Pritchard, president of the Pacers, Haliburton will not play next season as he focuses on recovering.

The 29-year-old averaged 18.6 points and 9.2 assists per game in his fifth season. Haliburton became special in the Eastern Conference playoffs for his ability to make game-winning shots, lifting the Pacers to victories in critical moments.
