Timberwovles thriller ruins Nikola Jokic’s career-high 61 points

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves just finished a thriller of a game. The game went into double-overtime and the star who shined the brightest was none other than three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.

The game saw many back-and-forths with Jokic being the most consistent player. Jokic scored a career-high 61 points on 18-29 shooting. The Joker also recorded a triple-double with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Jokic’s point total was the most scored in a triple-double in NBA history.

Despite his historic play, it was the Timberwolves, who were led by Anthony Edwards’ 34 points, that would come out on top in this thriller. Former MVP Russell Westbrook was called for a foul on Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s three-point attempt as time expired.

This led to Alexander-Walker sinking two huge free-throws to give the Timberwolves the 140-139 double-overtime victory.

Even though the Nuggets lost, Jokic has proven that he will be the toughest player to stop in the playoffs. This means the Nuggets have a great shot at winning yet another NBA championship. As for the Timberwolves, they’ll need to hope for more miracle plays if they want to content for a title this season.
