The Philadelphia 76ers’ season has been defined by injuries from the very beginning. After just 52 games played, Tyrese Maxey has officially become the newest Sixers to be shut down for the rest of the season due to injury.
“Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with a finger tendon injury,” Charania reported on X. “Maxey has been sidelined since March 3 and has attempted to rehab the finger, but still is dealing with discomfort and needs treatment.”

Their was speculation that Maxey could rehab his finger enough to make a return near the end of the season, but that no longer appears to be an option.
Despite the small sample size, Maxey set a new career-high in scoring this season with a blistering 26.3 points per game.
Maxey joins Joel Embiid, Paul George and Jared McCain as the newest Sixers star to be ruled out for the season. Time will only tell if Philly will run it back with the same roster next season or if there’s change on the way.
