The Warriors have also added Steph’s younger brother. This will be interesting to see. Golden State also finally re-signed their young star with a lot of potential, Jonathan Kuminga, to a two-year, $46.8 million contract extension.
Despite the new contract, all may not be well between the player and his team. According to insider Jake L. Fischer, the Warriors’ relationship with Kuminga is strained.
“The mounting expectation, as a result, is that the Warriors will make Kuminga available in the trade market once he becomes eligible to be dealt on January 15 to see what sort of return is out there for the 22-year-old before the February 5 trade deadline. I’m told that the relationship across this bargaining table, after such long-running talks, is certainly strained.”
Hopefully, Kuminga and the Warriors can mend their relationship, as Golden State could be a real threat to win an NBA championship.
