New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs has pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation and other assault charges stemming from an alleged incident involving his personal chef.
Diggs appeared in Massachusetts’ Dedham District Court on Friday and entered his official plea of not guilty.

The chef accuses Diggs of smacking her across the face and trying to choke her with the crease of his elbow during a dispute about her pay in early December.
Mitchell Schuster, Diggs’ attorney, calls the allegations unsubstatiated.
“I don’t think there will be a [plea] deal because I don’t think he is liable or guilty in any way, shape or form,” Schuster said. “He is completely innocent. … He will be completely exonerated.”
The 11-year NFL veteran did not comment on the case on Friday. A pretrial hearing has been set for April 1.
