The Alabama Crimson Tide is matched up against the Indiana Hoosiers in the second round of the College Football Playoff on Thursday.
As the Rose Bowl matchup approaches, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban told a story about his golfing buddies underestimating the Hoosiers, urging Alabama fans not to do the same.

“The amazing thing about this is how much respect we have for Indiana internally. But I go play with my golfing buddies in Alabama, and they’re all on the first tee saying, ‘We should kick the s–t out of Indiana,'” Saban said. “I’m like, ‘What are you guys talking about? These guys are a really good team.'”
Thursday’s matchup could be a tough one for Alabama, as the Hoosiers come into the game with a perfect 13-0 record. They boast the 2025 Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, who led them to a Big Ten title victory over Ohio State.
The Crimson Tide had a strong season as well with a current record of 11-3 after taking down the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round of the CFP.
A victory over Indiana would place Alabama one step closer to a national championship, but their former coach is urging caution.
