NBA fans react to Derrick White breaking LaMelo Ball’s ankles

The NBA preseason is in full swing and the Charlotte Hornets are looking to pick up its first win. The Hornets welcome the Boston Celtics after losing the first preseason game 134-93.

LaMelo Ball has had a slower start than he’d hope to this point, and his night didn’t necessary start off that great by making an unfavorable viral moment.

With 8:15 in the first quarter, Celtics guard, Derrick White drove hard to his right, and with a behind-the-back crossover, sent LaMelo flying to the floor. LaMelo’s feet buckled a bit, which was apropos of the term ankle breaker.

The irony of this is LaMelo dubbed himself the “ankle bully” as a teenager. At 15, LaMelo once stated, “I’m known as the ankle bully, and I’m the CEO of it because I’ve made a lot of people fall during my lifetime.”
