NBA officially ends investigation into Milwaukee Bucks

The NBA has now concluded its investigation into the Milwaukee Bucks over their management of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo late in the season, concluding that no further action or penalty is warranted.

In early April, the league decided to launch the investigation after the Bucks said Antetokounmpo was not ready to return from a knee injury and that he didn’t actually want to play.

But Antetokounmpo publicly stated multiple times that he was healthy and wanted to return. He only ended up playing in 36 games and the Bucks missed the playoffs with a 32-50 record.

After the season concluded, he reiterated his confusion with the idea to keep him out.

“For somebody to come and tell me to not play or not to compete, it’s like a slap in my face,” Antetokounmpo said Friday. “So I don’t know where the relationship goes from there.”

While the Bucks won’t face any action or penalties, their relationship with Antetokounmpo is currently on the rocks. It’s never been more unclear where Antetokounmpo will be playing moving forward than it is right now.
