Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has been named the 2025-26 NBA Coach of the Year, the league announced on Tuesday.
A global media panel of 100 voters selected the 2025-26 NBA Coach of the Year.

Mazzulla takes home his first COTY trophy after leading the Celtics to a 56-26 record in a season that easily could have been a gap year.
Superstar forward Jayson Tatum missed most of the season with a torn Achilles while the team traded away big man Kristaps Porzingis.
But with some help from a breakout season by Jaylen Brown, Mazzulla helped the Celtics blow expectations out of the water.
As he spoke on NBC following the announcement, he gave credit to his players and staff.
“There’s so much that goes into winning one game,” Mazzulla said. “It starts with the players, but it goes to our staff. I feel bad that they’re not here, but forever indebted to the guys that we have that give up their time with their families to give us a chance to win every day. … I truly want to thank my staff. I love those guys.”
After receiving consideration in the past, Mazzulla is now the Coach of the Year for the first time in his career, garnering 62 of the 100 first-place votes.
