In a nail-biting showdown on Saturday night, the Orlando Magic pulled off a stunning 127-126 victory over the visiting Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets jumped out all over the Magic from the opening tip, looking like the superior team that they are. By halftime, Denver led 62-48. This easily could’ve turned into a blowout loss, but the Magic refused to fold.
Dealing with ongoing injuries to key contributors like Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs, who remained sidelined, Orlando’s supporting cast stepped up in a big way. Desmond Bane and Anthony Black proved instrumental, aggressively attacking the basket and knocking down timely shots to spark runs that kept the game close.
Black had a career night, scoring 38, the most he’s ever scored in a game. This helped to overcome another epic performance from Nikola Jokic, who recorded his sixteenth triple-double with 34 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists.
The Magic’s defense, known for its length and disruptiveness, forced Denver into tough shots late, limiting Jokic’s supporting cast when it mattered most. Despite this, the Nuggets still had a chance to win, but Jamal Murray’s jumper rimmed out.
The Magic truly are looking like a team that could become a true contender in the future.
