Former Alabama football player Luther Davis is now facing several charges after being accused of impersonating several NFL players in an attempt to fraudulently secure nearly $20 million in loans, according to newly obtained court records.
Prosecutors accuse Davis of working with a man named CJ Evins to impersonate three different NFL players and obtain 13 different loans that reach the $20 million total threshold.

The three players targeted were Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr., former Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku and Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney.
Davis is now facing felony counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft as authorities say the pair used fake IDs, makeup and Wigs to impersonate the three players. They were able to convince lenders at multiple companies to approve the loans.
Davis was a part of the Crimson tide from 2007-2010, winning a national championship in 2009 while playing 45 games as a defensive end over four seasons.
The charges were initially brought forth in March and Davis is expected to plead guilty.
