Luka Doncic didn’t ask to be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The trade that brought him to Hollywood was out of his control. Since Luka is a Laker, he expects to win now and not to go through a rebuild.

“This isn’t signing away to the Lakers and saying, ‘OK, you have my commitment and I’ll have some patience here,’” McMenamin said. “It’s ‘I want to win this year, I want to win the subsequent year.
“So long as my name is signed to a piece of paper saying I am a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, I expect to be in a position to raise banners at the Crypto.com Arena.’”
The Lakers are trying to put together a win-now team around Luka and LeBron James. The only problem is whether they will succeed or not.
