Luka Doncic expects to “win-now” with Lakers

Luka Doncic didn’t ask to be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The trade that brought him to Hollywood was out of his control. Since Luka is a Laker, he expects to win now and not to go through a rebuild.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported on Luka’s mindset.

“This isn’t signing away to the Lakers and saying, ‘OK, you have my commitment and I’ll have some patience here,’” McMenamin said. “It’s ‘I want to win this year, I want to win the subsequent year.

“So long as my name is signed to a piece of paper saying I am a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, I expect to be in a position to raise banners at the Crypto.com Arena.’”

The Lakers are trying to put together a win-now team around Luka and LeBron James. The only problem is whether they will succeed or not.
