The LSU Tigers have a familiar face back as their head coach in Will Wade, but they will now have to rebuild from scratch after being left with zero players on the current roster.
With five players losing eligibility and nine total players hitting the transfer portal, the Tigers are in the same situation as the Tennessee women’s basketball team last week.

Wade’s departure from NC State and subsequent return to LSU caused a bit of an uproar in the basketball world. It’s possible that this included LSU’s players and influenced their decision to transfer.
Freshman guard Jalen Reece is the latest player to hit the transfer portal, announcing his intention to do so on Friday. While it may look like it’s time to sound the alarm, Wade has shown patience with the transfer portal in the past.
It took several weeks to secure his first commitment during portal season when he was at NC State, but he now must build an entire rotation without any sort of core to work with.
Coming off of a disappointing 15-17 season, the pressure is on for the Tigers to build a more competitive roster in the coming weeks and months.
