In a thrilling 105-104 victory over Utah on Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James reached a remarkable milestone, yet again, becoming only the second player in NBA history to record 15,000 field goals.
He wasn’t focused on that accomplishment more than helping his team get the win by securing his 12th double-double of the season with 27 points and 14 assists.

James, will undoubtedly have the opportunity to surpass another record by the great Abdul-Jabbar after he passed him for most career points and minutes played. Now that he has hit the 15k mark for field goals with 15,008, he is now 829 behind catching Kareem.
ESPN’s Senior NBA writer Marc J. Spears believes if James is able to surpass Kareem in career made field goals, then that would be more ‘impressive’ than when he passed him for most career points. “When you make that many field goals nobody can use all the three pointers you made which is LeBron 2400 to Kareem’s one to LeBron’s advantage.”
He will turn 40 later this month, and is in his 22nd season in the NBA, but his greatness is unmatched. So any record that he is in reach of, no one should put past him obtaining.
