LeBron James may be out of the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the NBA spotlight. This is partially due to his Mind the Game Podcast.

LeBron’s name is also always brought up by sports media. This happened recently thanks to Brian Windhorst.

Windhorst spoke about LeBron’s podcast, Mind the Game, with Steve Nash. He spoke on the fact nobody in the sports media world speaks about the actual game on the court.

This led to the Mind the Game Podcast leaving the message, “And we’re not done yet,” on their X page.

“I think there are times that the media is out of balance and I encourage NBA players to hold the media accountable when they can as long as they’re okay being held accountable by the media,” Windhorst said.

“I think at times our big challenge is to find that balance. Let’s not have 125 threes a game, but let’s not ban the three-pointer. Let’s have a balance.

“When people talk about the game of basketball, they want to talk about the drama, they want to talk about the X’s and O’s but I’m telling you if you do a full show that’s all X’s and O’s, that’s not going to be any good either.

“People like the drama,” Windhorst added. “People like the rivalries and people like looking at why Luka Doncic has trouble defending Tyrese Haliburton in an iso situation. I think there’s room for all of it. And there’s room to hold each other accountable but the finger-pointing, I don’t think that benefits anyone.”

LeBron’s response to Windhorst

LeBron also took a shot of his own at Windhorst. He reposted the Mind the Game Podcast’s X post, and added, “Long ways from being done!! Sucks they have to listen to 2 guys who know nothing about basketball talk about basketball! Sorry Steve Nash.”

The repost by LeBron is now deleted but he certainly got his point across. LeBron’s podcast recently featured Luka, in which they discussed many on court basketball topics.

Windhorst was also skeptical about how good it would do—the debut episode has 1.3 million views on YouTube and gained 227,000 subscribers within 24 hours.
