The championship game of the NBA Cup at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has finished. There’s only one team that came out on top. That was the New York Knicks after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 124-113.

The Knicks’ path to the final was impressive. They advanced through group play, notably eliminating the defending Cup champion Milwaukee Bucks.
Then, New York dominated the quarterfinals and semifinals with high-scoring performances. This includes a 132-120 win over the Orlando Magic powered by Jalen Brunson’s 40 points.
Facing a surging Spurs team led by Victor Wembanyama, who upset the reigning NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder in the semifinals, the final lived up to the hype. San Antonio took an 11-point lead midway through the third quarter and looked poised to bring home the trophy.
The Knicks just didn’t let that happen. Led by OG Anunoby’s 28 points and Brunson’s 25, New York stormed back into the game, taking a 12-point lead in the fourth.
Brunson was named the Cup MVP.
The Knicks are certainly happy to win their first trophy since 1973, but they certainly have their focus on a more prestigious trophy in June.
